A friend just pointed me to calltrackingmetrics.com which looks to be a cool call tracking platform. What I like most is that for small businesses (my primary clients) there is no monthly minimum so you can try out 2 or 3 different numbers for only $3/line for a local number and you only pay $0.05 per minute for calls that come in… Best of all, all calls are recorded which is great for training and evaluation purposes.

Important Sidenote: As important as it is to track your calls be sure you use these wisely and remember that when you place these numbers within your marketing campaigns you need to commit to keeping them until the campaign is over. For example, if you are running a magazine add and only displaying 1 tracking number I would be sure to keep the number of at least 6 months to a year. In addition, I would not recommend using it on any directory listings or within your website because you do not want to confuse the search engines as to what your primary number actually is.
